Bret is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who obtained his BA in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and his MA in Counseling Psychology from National University. He has spent the last five years working directly with diverse populations of children and teens in various school and clinical settings. He specializes in helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, and anger, in order to engage with their lives in a more fulfilling and meaningful way.
Bret provides clients with psychoeducation and experiential techniques when they are suitable, but believes that the heart of effective therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship. By using a client-centered approach, he seeks to deeply understand where the client is coming from in order to facilitate the process of positive change. He also implements tools and teachings from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness approaches.
If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you are just ready to move in a new direction in your life, we look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
